Pineapple Cookies

1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 can ( 83/4 oz ) crushed pineapple
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp.baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Mix shortening, sugar , and egg thoroughly. Stir in
Pineapple .Sift together flour. soda, salt, & nutmeg.
Add nuts, chill at least 1 hr. Heat oven to 400. Drop
1 tsp. dough about 2 inches apart in lightly greased
cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 min.
yield 5 dozen.
