Sponge Roll

4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
1 c. sifted cake flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
Beat eggs & vanilla at high speed til thick and lemon
colored, gradually beat in sugar til mixture is fluffy and thick.
Sift dry ingredients and add to egg mixture. Bake in jelly roll
pan. 375 6 to 8 min.
filling:
8 level tbs flour
1 c. brown sugar
Maple or vanilla flavoring
2/3 c. hot water
1 stick butter
Cook first 3 ingredients together, add butter & flavoring,
cool. Spread on cake while hot and roll like a jelly roll.
