1 pkg. - 10 oz - frozen peas
1/2 c. chopped onions
1/2 c. chopped celery
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dried basil
4 c. chicken broth
4 c. cooked cubed chicken ( 1 - 2 cans fri chik.
Dumplins
2 c. biscuit mix
2 tsp. dried basil
2/3 c. milk
In a large saucepan, Saute, onions, garlic, celery in butter til tender.
Add flour sugar, salt, basil, & broth. Bring to a boil.Cook and stir
1 minute. Add peas and cook for five minutes, stirring constantly,
add fri chik, Pour into a greased 9 x 13 baking dish.
for dumplings:
Combine biscuit mix, basil in a bowl. Stir in milk, mix with fork til
moistened. Drop by tbs. onto casserole. (12 dumplings.)
Bake uncovered at 350 for 30 min. Cover and bake 10 min. more
til dumplings are done.
