Unstuffed Cabbage

6 c. chopped cabbage
1/2 lb. ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 c. uncooked instant rice
1/2 tsp. salt- 1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cans tomato soup, undiluted
1 c. water
1/3 c. shredded cheddar cheese
Place cabbage in a greased 2 1/2 qt. baking dish.
In a skillet, cook beef & onion over med heat
til no longer pink. Drain.
Stir in rice, salt & pepper. Spoon over cabbage.
Combine soup & water. Pour over beef mixture.
Cover & bake 350 40 to 45 min or til rice &
cabbage are tender. Uncover.
Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 5 min. longer,
til cheese melts.
Serves 4
