5 large white onions, thinly sliced
2 1/4 c. sugar
1 1.2 c. vinegar
1 1/2 c. water
4 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
3 tbs. mayo.
1/4 tsp. celery seed
salt , pepper to taste
Place onions in a large bowl.
In saucepan, combine sugar, water,
vinegar & salt. Bring to a boil, pour
over onions. Cover and refrigerate
overnight.
Drain onions, discard liquid, combine
sour cream, mayo, celery salt, salt &
pepper.
Mix well, ,add onions, toss
